Who are We?
Started by a group of investors in 2007. The investors are all experienced businessmen enthusiastic about the range of Unmanned Systems and Sensor technologies now available to the commercial marketplace.
The investors, as enthusiasts, decided that to properly service the market they must operate the best available Systems for the task and undertook an extended investigation and research of what was available in the marketplace.
This research showed that the increasingly available and more sophisticated and specialised vehicles and systems, although more capable, required larger investments in personnel and equipment and most significantly were not making the gains estimated from the unmanned characteristics the proposers claimed. The technology and operation had become increasingly complex as manufacturers strove to be all things for all people particularly as manufacturers strove to meet the military market and complexity replaced simplicity.
The market research confirmed that there was a large and unfulfilled market sector for Surveillance and Inspection using unmanned system in hazardous and difficult to access locations.
Attendance in late 2007 at the London Show confirmed our research and the range of technologies available for land, water and air operations however the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles displayed seemed to meet our entry requirements and it was decided to pursue those opportunities in the first instance.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) could be easily deployed, operated by personnel with minimum training and provide first responders, police and rescue organisations alike with a situational overview using the latest technology to make it simple not more complicated. Capital requirements were reasonable and the market was expanding as the UAV market began making inroads into the commercial sphere.
Our research identified the quadrotor VTOL as the type of UAV that best met our initial target vehicle in both performance and operating characteristics. Due diligence was carried out with English Police forces who were trialling the vehicle, Military commands which were operating this form of UAV and then with the manufacturers of the vehicles.
Overlords selected the units provided by AirRobot Australasia Pty Ltd as superior and has acquired an AR100B as the first unmanned system.
Our research shows and our philosophy is dedicated to providing the customer with what they want. An eye in the sky
Falcon Overlords will furnish the best available technology to provide service to the many companies, institutions and government departments that wished to avail themselves of the service but did not want to own and operate systems well outside their core functions.
